I can't believe that I've been in the UK for ALMOST 5 months already!

Doesn't time fly?!

I must admit that I just had the inspirasi to blog after reading The Star Online, which had an article which called a 21 year old a woman. Bloody hell. I'm turning 21 in 2 months' time!

I'm no more "I'm not a girl, not yet a woman" (the song which is currently replaying in my head over and over again).

SIGH 10x.

Am so glad I made the decision 2 months ago to go back to M'sia, and it's almost a month ago when I was back home.... unbelievably fast. I don't think I can even remember most of my holiday if not with the help of the pictures I took.. and forced people to take with me :P

I miss home :( Geez I missed home the moment I left the house to go to the airport.

One month and counting

I know. This is like absurd. Not blogging for a few months already.

I doubt anyone still reads my blog. If you do, kudos to you!

Today is the day. 1 month since I left Malaysia, and left all my beloved friends behind.

Not one day passes without missing you guys. And Bobby. And my family.

Somehow, I still can't accept the fact that I'm not in Malaysia anymore.

You know how you get so used to things? And all of a sudden, you need to change. Move on. Begin a new life. Make new friends. Be matured for once.

The reality just hasn't sunk in yet.

And I have not gotten myself acquainted with my neighbours/flatmates. Sure, most of them are friendly and stuff. But yet they are so inconsiderate, not caring about the people they're living with! Grr!!!

Ok I'm quite flattered honestly.

I haven't been blogging for 2 months but my ratings haven't dropped that much... only about like half. hahah. Ss much.

Exams were over since like 2 weeks ago.. and I've been working at Zico for 1 and a 1/2 weeks already!

Did so badly I probably have to resit... but hopefully I'll manage to scrape a pass like last yr ;P

After all.. I studied more this year than I did the last. Albeit played more too. But we shall overlook that.

To be honest, wasn't exactly thrilled with the idea of doing internship for a month a week after the end of exams.. but then again, the sooner I start, the sooner I end, and then I can enjoy my 3 months of hols! :)

And I learnt that when working, the people around you makes a whole lot of difference. The people you work with and see everyday. Prob shouldn't elaborate further... and too lazy to anyway.

So this is a summary of what I've been doing for these 2 months!

I hardly even have time to socialise, what more to blog!

Btw, attended a "cocktail session" organised by SKRINE few hours ago.. and it was pretty fun ;)

Meeting up with my "masters" during the internship, meeting new LA's/partners/chambees, and they were all so FRIENDLY!

And the lawyers that I've helped/talked to actually recognize me! Yay! :D

Hmm... Although they couldn't remember my name.

Which I guess is forgivable. Since I would forget my own name too if I wasn't born with it in the first place.

Omg I'm talking rubbish now.

Anyway, exams in approx. 1 month's time, there's Writing Credit and pre-seen questions to prepare for, so therefore, I DO NOT have ENOUGH TIME, and will NOT be able to blog.

That said, I'm going for karaoke tmr and possibly a night movie. Lalalala.

Oh ya and the french toast sucked, didn't even have kaya inside.

Figured I'd have to try every stall to judge the cafeteria.

This costed me RM6 when it'd have costed less than RM5 in hawker stalls outside.

AND this is a cafeteria (who's supposed to keep the cost at a minimum!) no less.

Not even chicken curry.

They only had dahl which was so diluted to complement this dish.

Other than that was rojak sauce or sambal.

So he gave me condensed milk instead.

The roti pisang wasn't even sweet.

Sigh. Major disappointment.

I swear.. the windows are big and (tall?) that people can just open them and commit suicide, don't think Taylor's thought about that much.

Free lunch buffet! Hehe.

Was gonna go for the buffet dinner there but mom gave me a voucher for free lunch soo might as well use it :)

Hainanese chicken rice was terrible

Garlic fried rice, not too bad, but it didn't have crispy garlic flakes like how it's supposed to

Otak-otak and other stuff HQ took were not nice either

Pasta turned out to be better than I expected, but still ok-ok only. Can't beat Dave's Carbonara.

Indian food (tandoori, curry chicken, fish etc) was okay only. Nothing to shout about.

Laksa was terrible -_-

I super loved the white choc!! But the variety of fruits were limited (only dates, rockmelon and honeydew) which don't even really go together with chocolate.

Stupid stingy restaurant don't provide strawberries and bananas.

HQ said the sushi wasn't fresh (I don't eat raw food).

Waffle was terrible.

Quite like the bread (I'm a sucker for good bread)

1 of the worst macha ice-creams I've ever tasted in my life.

Tasted more like vanilla, there was no green tea taste at all.

The best food there was probably the Teppanyaki, the prawns were fresh but they ran out of them very quickly. Teppan chicken was quite good but a little too salty.
The Malay kuih were OK la, outside ones are better.

Overall experience: Average, probably better than most of the other buffets.

Overall, great trip with great company. Could've been better if the other 2 from Friday Gang came :(

Took an airport taxi to our hotel, which costed us 600Baht, bloody expensive!

The taxi effing conned our money, charging us a flat rate to go to this place for 200 Baht (RM20) initially.

Then on the way there, he asked whether we've been to a 'ping-pong/tiger/fucking' show.

We thought we heard the last word wrongly, but we didn't.

Us being innocent little children, we really thought that'd be a real tiger there.

He kept on convincing us to go, saying that we haven't been to Bangkok if we haven't watched these 3 shows.

And it was only for 600 Baht, our ladyboy show costs 800 Baht.

Said that since it's nearer, our taxi fee will only be 150 Baht.

So what the heck, we asked him to bring us there.

Hesitated when we saw the area, and then got a little freaked out when we actually went in (after we enter the 1st door, there's another door inside).

Told the guy that we wanna see first before going in.

Didn't get to see much coz the bapa ayam blocked the entrance.

Decided not to go in, coz I've read reviews that these shows are demeaning/degrading towards women.

Somemore, why let the guys enjoy right. HAha.

Kiddin', not like they wanted to go in anyway.

Reached early, got our free drinks.

So many Chinese came out of the 1st session of the show.

And they paid 50Baht to take pics with the ladyboys.

Could still see quite clearly that they're actually men behind all that plastic surgery.

Some didn't even do any plastic surgery.

This fat guy was the funniest!

Highlight of the show: TH being pulled onto the stage and molested by the ladyboys.

Went back to Foodland Supermarket near our hotel to buy groceries for the next day's breakfast.

Sniff sniff.

30th December 2009 (Wednesday)

A staff from the airport managed to persuade us to go on this half-day tour.

Supposedly there'd be "floating markets" and we'd be able to visit the Grand Palace. Which was what we wanted to do as sight-seeing in Bangkok.

Mana tau the floating market is just 1 boat selling handicraft.

'Fishing farm' where they breed fish, and the people are not allowed to catch any.

Snake farm costed 150Baht and was a waste of time.

Since this is a measure to promote Thailand, the tour costed only 500Baht for 4 people. (Approx RM12.50 each). When it supposedly would've costed us 40USD.

Then she told us that we'd be getting our own driver, whom we can ask to drop us off anywhere we want, such as the Grand Palace.

But nooooooooOoo, we didn't get our own driver, and we were scolded by the stupid tour guide for being 15 mins late.

She kept saying that if we didn't want to go on the trip, then we can go collect the refund from the airport. There are other hotels coming as well, and she's already late. Blablabla.

Couldn't understand a word he was saying.

After the boat tour, she made us go to 3 other tourist-y places. Yes, forced us.
Said that it's part of her job and stuff, coz she has to write a report later on.

More like she'll get commission if she brings us there.
There were only 4 of us left coz the other 2 tourists went off on their own.

Went back to the hotel after that coz I realised I left 2000 Baht in my pants pocket -_-

Luckily they haven't started cleaning the room. Then had our free brunch at the hotel.

Bought this near the train station outside our hotel. Pretty interesting. Tastes like Apom.

Think 1 of the best Thai restaurants I've ever eaten.

Tomyum was good (I don't actually drink tomyum soup), and so were the other dishes.

Didn't really like the green curry fish though

4 dishes for 2 people omg, was so full after that.

Tried out the White Chocolate Cheesecake from Coffee Beans by Dao, since HQ's family friend told us it's a MUST-try.
Plus I super love white chocolate, and cheesecake.
Imagine my excitement when I heard that they have White Choc CHEESECAKE!
Loved the combination!!! Though I felt there could be more white choc taste, rather than so much of cream.
But somehow all the flavours mixed well! The cream, white choc, cheesecake and the base.
Absolutely lovely!!
Wanted to bring home for my family to try but impossible la :(
Also tried out the Choc cheesecake which was not good. But finished it coz both cakes costed 110Baht each. Bloody exp!!

Took me more than 3 hours to bake these cookies (about 80-90 cookies only??) where as it took me the same amount of time to bake 4-5 times more of the choc chip cookies last week.

Ok la partially my fault.
I went and melted Cadbury white chocolate (what? its nicer with real chocolate rather than cooking chocolate!). It became hard again even before all my cookies finished baking.
Fine, so then tried to melt again. Didn't work.
So went through my fridge, amazingly found white chocolate CHIPS!
So happy, then put it over a pot of boiling water, didn't melt.
... Felt a little stupid after that because they're technically NOT supposed to melt, being chocolate chips, they are subject to high temperature in the oven.

Haha then I tried melting the Cadbury white choc again and it got burnt coz the water beneath the chocolate evaporated and I didn't know.
So after the many failed attempts, I went to take another bar of Cadbury white chocolate.
Didn't melt as much as I'd like it to, but still manageable.
Besides, nobody will see how the fugly the chocolate is like underneath the Nestum I coated the cookies with :)

Do you know how tedious and tiresome this job is!! :(
But I like it anyway.
There's just something about baking/cooking that makes people happy & feel whole :)
(my sis is my biggest fan! she eats the raw batter, and she's also always the 1st to eat the freshly baked cookies :D)

Mistakes

No. 1 - Not indicating whether it must be RIGHT BEFORE YOU LEAVE (fucker, like got so much time to go to the immigration to do passport at that time)

No. 2 - Not indicating whether the letter must be from the university itself

No.3 - Not indicating that actual payment to the university must be made

No. 4 - Not indicating that actual offer letter & receipt must be brought along

No. 5 (and the fucking biggest mistake of all) - NOT READING THE BLOODY LETTER PROPERLY IN THE FIRST PLACE!

Waiting to get the "nombor giliran". Reached at 7.45am mind you.

About 8.30am, was called to the counter. Thought I read somewhere that photocopied offer letter/receipt is valid, and upon checking my documents, they told me to go home and take my actual offer letter/receipt.

(The docs were actually brought to the supervisor to re-confirm, and she INSISTED I bring the original receipt, if not I had to pay the extra RM150).

Fine, went home to take it, heck RM150 is a lot of money, why should I give the govt free money?

Reached back in half an hour, and was told to wait again.

An hour later, the supervisor called my name, told me I can't use the letter after all.

Why? Because I'm not going yet. And I don't have the offer letter from Uni. of Reading itself.

She bloody checked the letter itself, and she admitted it was her mistake, yet she blamed it on me. "Why didn't you tell me it was a twinning programme?"

Bitch, don't you have eyes to see the details clearly stated it was a 2+1 programme? -.-

Kept arguing with her about it, since she had the opportunity to see the documents first before sending me home, and she did. Plus, I AM going to study abroad, just not so soon. Isn't it proof enough that the letter states twinning programme to Reading, 2+1 programme?

Then she kept asking me to come back next year, before I leave, if I want the discount.

WTF? I come all the way here, twice, and now you're asking me to come back again next year for the mistake that YOU did?

And yet I hear all these great stories about how efficient the immigration is now. How much they improved since back then. My freaking BUTT.

Fine, giving her the benefit of the doubt, it could be a simple honest mistake. (unlikely, hasn't she been dealing with this for a while now, and being a supervisor, she should be more aware and alert)

BUT if it WAS an honest mistake, the LEAST she could do is apologize.

Which she didn't, of course. -_-"

Hence, all in all, bloody bad experience renewing my passport.

Took me 4 hours to renew it, excluding the half hour I took to come home & retrieve my original offer letter.

Thank GOD I had YH(who woke up super early) & LF(who missed class) to accompany me. Loveloves! <3

Worse than insomnia.

From the most reliable source, Wikipedia:

A narcoleptic will most probably experience disturbed nocturnal sleep and also abnormal daytime sleep pattern, which is often confused with insomnia. When a person with narcolepsy falls asleep or goes to bed they will generally experience the REM stage of sleep (rapid eye movement/dreaming state), within 10 minutes; whereas for most people, this shouldn't occur until generally 30 minutes of slumber.

(yah, the sensation is like you're dreaming, but you're really still awake -.-)

They have very vivid dreams, which they often remember in great detail. People with narcolepsy may dream even when they only fall asleep for a few seconds.

It is also a major cause of learning difficulty and absenteeism from school. Woke up at a God-forsaken time coz Noel wanted to reach early, eat breakfast and get a good parking spot.
In the end woke up early for nothing, got a parking spot damn far away -.-

Coz Mr H kept telling us not to skip (his) classes.. that we'll drown and be lost in our studies even if we skipped 1
Then during HR class, SM told us we got no E&T for the day coz Mr H fell sick.

Sigh.
At least I had McD for breakfast after that to cheer me up :)

Was pretty reluctant coz Eunice and I saw nobody doing that.

Met up at college, then the cars left to KL for Lincoln Inn's Alumni Dinner.
Fayefaye was the only driver who kept telling us beforehand, that if anything happens to us, she's not liable.
... And her car was the only 1 among the 3 cars who drove together (Ben, SM, Faye), which survived without a dent/scratch :p

Didn't actually think of taking pics, but my dad and sis expected me to, since I was holding my hp, so I did.

Yumyum this is quite nice, don't have coconut taste of course, just the fragrance.

The half hour show was so torturing, but I just had to watch it coz they were filming in Penang.

Sigh, uni/(college -.-) has started.

Hmm but 1st week has been pretty interesting.

Met a high school friend who just started Year 1.
Found out I have more stalkers stalking my blog that I thought.
(One who actually remembers the name of the restaurant I went to!)
Then a fellow classmate also asked where I eat my fav. nasi lemak with the "gila banyak sambal".
Didn't get him at first, thought I was having hearing problems (how do they find my blog anyway? hmm.)
Found out my new (and some old) classmates are very kiasu, all the books that we're supposed to read this year are already gone (according to friends, since I haven't stepped into the library yet lol).

Went SP after college to celebrate Wendy's birthday.
Then accompanied a friend to Pav. to buy present.

There was a Mac roadshow, so we went and had a look around.
The salesguy looked familiar, but thought I didn't know him.
Turns out I did -.-"

He asked to fill up some survey form for him, so we did.
Didn't want to write my address down, but had to.
Then he so conveniently looked and was like "Oh I live there too!"

When I called my friend "STUPID" like how I always do, that guy told me, "Hey! Don't call your friend stupid!".
Walau damn too much, I'm supposed to be a potential customer leh!

Before we left, asked him whether he used to play piano.

Watched 500 Days of Summer with the guys today, which is only filming in TGV btw, according to TH.

The guy may not seem cute at first, but he grows on you, and Zooey Deschanel.. not so famous but her acting's pretty good!

Overall, quite like the movie actually. I like how there's a twist in the ending, not your typical love story which gets boring after a while.

I think the cinematography is really good. Dunno how to explain, but after the movie you just take a moment to ponder about the whole movie.
